Yamanoimo
Yams

The climate of the Sasayama Basin is suitable for the growth of yams. The yams which grow here are smooth and glutinous with a snow-white body in contrast to their appearance. They are excellent in nutritive value and effective in medical use. They are served in Yamakake, Tororo-jiru soup and luxury Japanese sweets and habitually used by professional cooks.
